Profile photo policy
Your profile photo is how other members recognise you across a sale. These are the rules it has to meet.
What works
- A photograph of you.
- Your farm's brand mark, or a photograph of the farm itself.
- A photograph of your animals, if that is how buyers know you.
Any of these is fine. A clear photograph beats a logo for a private seller, and a fold’s mark beats a face for a farm that trades under one.
What is not allowed
- Contact details of any kind
- No phone numbers, email addresses, website addresses, social handles or QR codes in the image. Arrange the sale through HoofnHorn, where both sides have a record of it.
- Someone else's photograph
- Use an image you took or own. A photograph lifted from another breeder, a registry or a stock library is not yours to publish.
- Another person's identity
- Do not use a photo that presents you as a different breeder, farm or organization.
- Nudity or sexual content
- Including anything suggestive.
- Hate, harassment or violence
- No symbols, slogans or imagery attacking people for who they are, and nothing threatening.
- Distressing images of animals
- No slaughter, injury, neglect or carcasses. This is a marketplace for living animals and people browse it with their children beside them.
- Illegal activity
- Including drugs and anything else against the law.
If we remove your photo
We email you to say so. Your account is not affected, and you can add a different photo any time from your account settings.
Photos are checked automatically, so we get it wrong sometimes. If you think we have, email support@hoofnhorn.com and we’ll take another look.
