Heritage livestock has a market problem, and it has nothing to do with the animals.
Buyers search Facebook groups, Craigslist, breeder pages and scattered auctions for the right animal, while legitimate breeders work to get their livestock in front of the right buyers. Scams are getting harder to recognize as AI makes fake photos, listings and identities more convincing.
HoofnHorn is being built to give heritage livestock a better place to buy, sell and connect. Verified breeders, detailed listings, pedigrees and registration information tell buyers more about who and what they are buying. Online auctions let breeders reach buyers across the country without hauling animals to a sale just to offer them.
Moving online should not mean losing the community that makes a livestock sale fun. Every auction has a live discussion, so people can talk about the animals while the bids come in and meet other breeders along the way.

Submit your application from your dashboard. Applications are typically reviewed within a few business days, based on your audience, content quality and fit with the heritage breed community.

You'll receive a unique referral link and code to share with your audience: in your bio, posts, emails, or wherever your followers find you.

Earn on every sale
When someone you referred buys or sells on HoofnHorn, you earn a share of the closing fee we collect on that sale: 20% on a seller referral, 10% on a buyer referral. Seller referrals keep earning for 12 months.

Get paid
Payouts are initiated on or around the 10th of each month. Commissions you earn in a month are held until 60 days after that month ends, then paid in the next payout. A balance below $100 is held until the next payout.

Both rates are a share of the closing fee HoofnHorn collects on the sale, never of the animal's sale price. That fee varies by seller, so your share follows what we actually collect. Seller referrals earn for 12 months from the day the seller creates their account. Commissions you earn in a month are held until 60 days after that month ends, then paid in the next payout.

Who can join?
Anyone with an audience or buyer network. Approval is required but the bar is reasonable: we're looking for people who can authentically reach buyers or breeders, not for follower counts.
How much can I earn?
It comes down to volume. You earn 20% of the closing fee on every sale a referred seller completes and 10% on every auction a referred buyer wins, and heritage breed animals sell for thousands of dollars. Some sellers pay a reduced fee, so your share follows the fee we actually collect.
Do I earn on my own auctions if I refer my buyers?
You earn on every auction a referred buyer wins anywhere on HoofnHorn, with one exception: your own listings. If you sell here and bring your waitlist onto the platform, every animal they buy from another breeder earns you your buyer-referral share. Nobody earns a commission on a sale they are a party to, so an animal they buy from you earns nothing.
When do I get paid?
Commissions you earn in a month are held until 60 days after that month ends. They are paid in the next payout, initiated on or around the 10th. For example, May commissions are held until July 30 and paid on or around August 10.
Are commissions for one transaction or recurring?
Both earn for 12 months from the day the person you referred creates their account. A referred buyer earns you a share every auction they win in that year; a referred seller earns you a share of every sale they make in it.
Do the people I refer get anything?
Yes. Anyone who creates an account through your link or code gets a welcome offer on their first sale or purchase. Your dashboard shows the current offer, and you may share it exactly as it appears there.
Can breed associations participate?
Yes. We work directly with breed registries on custom terms. Apply via the dashboard and mention your organization in the application.
What about taxes?
You're responsible for reporting your affiliate income. We'll provide the tax documentation the law requires, and Stripe collects the details needed for it when you connect your account.
Do I have to tell people I earn from my link?
Yes. US law requires it, and it applies wherever you share: posts, videos, livestreams, podcasts, email and your bio. Put it where the link is, in plain words. “I earn a commission if you sign up through this link” is enough. A hashtag buried among others is not. The full rules are in the affiliate program terms.
