Stella – 7-Year-Old Black Highland Cow | Gentle, Deep-Bodied, Easy Handling

Stella is one of my favorite cows on the ranch. When I brought her home from Wisconsin three years ago, I never planned on selling her. She’s a beautiful black Highland with a deep, wide body and a solid build. She’s easy to be around. She gets along with the rest of the herd, handles easily, loads into the chute well, and will eat treats right out of your hand. She’d suit a family, a hobby farm, or a small acreage where you want a gentle cow you can actually work with. FULL DISCLOSURE I want to be upfront about why she’s for sale. Stella recently lost her calf to pneumonia. Her teats also get pretty big after calving, so she needs to be milked out a couple of times. She’s very easy to milk, so it isn’t a big ordeal, but her next owner should know about it going in. We always keep the calf right there with her, and as soon as she’s milked down, the calf can just start nursing. She is a great mom and wants to be a good mom and has no problem letting the calf nurse. FIREBALL STRAWS INCLUDED Stella comes with two straws of heifer-sexed semen from Fireball, our cream-colored Chondro+ Highland bull, at no extra cost. That gives you a head start on a fluffy heifer calf out of a gentle cow and a great mother. A GOOD HOME MATTERS This one is hard for me and the right home matters more to me than a quick sale. Questions, extra photos, and FaceTime to see her in person are all welcome.
